The new European season has begun with mixed results for top clubs, as Liverpool and Manchester United show they are not yet at their best while Real Madrid secure a gritty victory under Mourinho.
The opening fixtures of the campaign have highlighted that several prominent sides are still finding their rhythm. Liverpool appear fortunate in their early results but face a challenging journey to regain their previous dominance. Manchester United also look unprepared for the demands ahead, struggling to impose themselves in key moments on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Mourinho has delivered a classic hard-fought triumph with Real Madrid, grinding out a result that reflects his pragmatic approach. This style of victory, built on organisation and resilience rather than flair, sets a tone for the season. The contrast between the English sides' uncertainty and Real Madrid's efficiency underlines the competitive nature of the European competitions.
