LAFC part-owner Berg named as next MLS commissioner

Larry Berg, a part owner of LAFC, has been appointed the next commissioner of MLS and will take over from Don Garber on 1 January 2027.

The Major League Soccer board has confirmed Berg's selection after a thorough search process. As a long-standing owner with LAFC, he brings extensive experience in club operations and league matters. He will step into the role at a time when the league continues to expand its presence both in the United States and internationally. Berg is expected to build on the work of his predecessor, focusing on growth and fan engagement across all clubs.
